Margaret/Maggie Forsyth was born in 1864 in New Zealand – the daughter of Charles Forsyth, a gardener, and Lucy Jane Hazell. (See 104 Mrs Chas Forsyth)
When she signed the suffrage petition Margaret was living with her family near Milton.
She married 55-year-old William Laing Kerr, a widower and farmer with several children, on 6 February 1902 in the Milton Parish.
They had a daughter the following year.
William died at their home in Invercargill in 1928 and Margaret died on 10 January 1946, also in Invercargill, they are buried together in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
