Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Margaret/Maggie Graham was born on 22 April 1873 in Dalmellington, Ayrshire, Scotland – the daughter of Robert Graham, a farm labourer, and Agnes McLeish.

She emigrated with her family to Otago in 1876 on the Oamaru.

Her mother died the following year and her father later married Jane Lambeth, also a passenger on the Oamaru. (See 70 Jane Graham)

When Maggie signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Brunswick St, South Dunedin.

What happened to Maggie after this is unclear – she may have gone to Australia with her sister Mary. (See 70 Mary J Graham)
