Margaret Anderson was born in 1876 in New Zealand – the youngest daughter of John Anderson, a brass founder, and Barbara Sutherland. (See 152 Mrs J Anderson)

When Margaret signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Hanover St, Dunedin.

She died in the Dunedin Hospital on 23 January 1897 and is buried in the Northern Cemetery.
