Mary Darling Miller Galloway was born in New Zealand in 1869 – daughter of George Miller Galloway, a tanner, and Marrion Chisholm.

When she signed the suffrage petition Mary was living with her family in Dalry St, Dunedin, working as a book sewer.

She did not marry and she died on 14 September 1940. She is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
