Mary Jamieson was born about 1862 in Ireland – the youngest child of John Jamieson, a farm labourer, and Margaret. (See 53 Margaret Jamieson)
She emigrated to Otago with her family in 1874 on the Mairi Bhan and settled in Dunedin.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in George St.
Both her parents died in 1893 and her life after this is unclear.
