Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.
Annie Wylie was born about 1853 in Scotland.
She married Robert Millis, a printer, in New Zealand in 1869 and they had eight children. (see 83 Kate Millis)
They lived, at first, in Auckland before moving to Dunedin in the early 1880’s.
When Annie signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Eden Street.
In 1895 Robert travelled to London to obtain a patent for the “Simplex” a paper bag making machine – he sold the patent before his return.
About 1916 Robert retired and they moved back to Auckland where Annie died on 28 December 1922.
Robert remarried in 1924 – he died in 1934. They are both buried in the Waikumete Cemetery but in different sections.
