Elizabeth Porter was born about 1840, possibly in Scotland.
She married William Paul, a carter, on August 7th 1863 in Dunedin.
They lived at first in Dunedin, before moving to Palmerston where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition.
They had 8 children, one who died in infancy.
William died in 1908 and Elizabeth died at her home on April 20th 1922. They are buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
