Rachel MacGoun was born on September 8th 1821 in Glasgow, Scotland – the daughter of Malcolm McGoun, an accountant, and Mary Park.
She emigrated to New Zealand with her 2 sisters to join their brother Robert in Invercargill.
When Rachel signed the suffrage petition the sisters were living in Conor Street.
Her sister Jane died in 1893 and sometime after this Rachel moved back to Scotland with her sister Mary.
Rachel died there in 1912.
