Rebecca Love was born on 24 May 1858 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland – the daughter of Johnston Love, a sailor, and Jane Eaglesham. (See 114 Jane Love)
She emigrated to Canterbury in 1876 with her mother and five siblings on the Jessie Osborne. Her father possibly worked his passage around this time.
She married George Frederick Myers, a storeman, on 12 May 1881 at her parent’s home in Great King St and they had four children.
When she signed the suffrage petition Rebecca was living in Forth St, Linden, Roslyn near her parents.
Rebecca died on 6 July 1931 and George died in 1948, they are buried with Rebecca’s parents in the Northern Cemetery.
