Helen Rose Burk was born in 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Burk, a master mariner, and Annie Rose. (See 151 Annie Burk)
When Rose signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Forth St, Dunedin.
She married Hugh Harvey, a telegraphic linesman, on 30 August 1893 at Knox Church and they had six children.
Rose died at her home on 18 October 1923 and Hugh died in 1946, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
