Sarah Finlinson was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of Hewson Finlinson, a fellmonger, and Sarah Helen Bond and sister of Jemima. (See 113 Jeanie Finlinson)
When Sarah signed the suffrage petition she was living in Russell Street, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.
She married, clerk, John Knox on 27 September 1897 at the Maheno Anglican Church.
They had two daughters, one who died in infancy, and they lived in Dunedin where John died in July 1946.
Sarah died almost exactly one month later on 15 August – they are buried together in the Southern Cemetery.
