I was an 11 year old boy at the time and all of my family survived.
I remember much about that time, the picture of a young boy in an oversized life jacket is my younger brother.

I was on the Wahine when it sank as one of the youngest survivors along with my sister and mother.

I was on the Wahine with my family. Six of us survived. Thanks to Rob Ewan who saved me from rough sea. I was so grateful and happy to meet Rob 50 years afterwards at Willington during 50th Anniversary of Wahine Disaster.
