Nga Tohu

In 1840 more than 500 chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand’s founding document. Ngā Tohu, when complete, will contain a biographical sketch of each signatory.

Te Keha, from Te Horo, signed Te Tiriti at Waikato Heads in late March or early April 1840. Two of his sons were killed in a battle with Ngāti Tamaho at Momoreti in 1834.
