Ann Talbot was born in about 1822 in Wincanton, Somersetshire, England. She married Philip Davis, a carpenter, on 25 October 1847 in Pentonville, London.
They had three children in England before they emigrated to Victoria, Australia about 1856. A further two children were born in Australia. The family came to New Zealand in about 1861 and settled in Dunedin.
When she signed the suffrage petition Ann was living in Glen Rd, Dunedin with her husband. Her daughters Maria, Ann and Jane also signed the petition.
Ann died on 23 October 1893 and Philip died in 1899. They are both buried in the Southern Cemetery.
