Maggie Milne Kirk (her birth was registered as Margaret Dickson Kirk) was born in New Zealand in 1868 – the daughter of David Kirk, an expressman, and Catherine/Kate Dickson.
On 18 April 1892 she married John Murray, a tailor, at her widowed mother’s house in Cumberland St, Dunedin. They had one daughter and moved to Wellington about 10 years after their marriage.
John died there in 1930 and Margaret died in May 1949. They are buried together in the Karori Cemetery, Wellington.
