The nurses and doctors who worked at the temporary hospital established to care for Māori patients at Te Tokanganui-a-noho Marae in Te Kuiti during the influenza epidemic. It is significant that Matron Marion Hattaway (née Mereana Tangata, and sometimes anglicised to Marion / Marianne / Mary Ann Leonard) sits at the centre of the group, with Dr Samuel Zobel on her right.
