I was on the Wahine Ferry with my mother and father and 2 sisters. My mother Margaret Emmett drowned. My father, 2 sistars and I returned to the UK. I was 4 years old when the ferry sank. My sister Sharon was 5 years old and Julie was 2 years old. My father Ronnie passed away in 2/10/2012. I can always recall my Dad commenting over the years about the support from the Salvation Army.
