milburn

Farming locality on the alluvial plain 6km north-east of Milton, Otago. For about 80 years, until the 1960s, Milburn was a centre for the production of lime and limestone for agricultural purposes and for the manufacture of cement.

Meaning of place name
The name of the stream that drove the wheels of the mills at Milton, and so named by the surveyors.
