Telegraph engineers roll of honour board

The roll of honour board for the Auckland branch of the Post and Telegraph Engineers. It includes the names of all the men in the branch who served in the First World War. About one in ten did not survive to return to New Zealand.

Among the names on this roll of honour board are those of two clerks. Rifleman Victor Mitchell was killed in action on the Somme on 12 September 1916, and Lance-Corporal Ralph Henry McCarthy died of his wounds in Rouen on 19 November 1918, a week after the Armistice.

This honours board is now held at Archives New Zealand, Wellington.
